I was surprised to find out that mail was not dead yet. I was disappointed
that people only used e-mail and forgot about writing with their hand and
adding real stamps or sending real envelopes. These things always made me feel
really happy, and when I found out that something like postcrossing existed I
fell in love with it. And so I want to tell you more about this project :
Postcrossing.
The project:
The goal of this project is to allow people to receive postcards from all
over the world, for free. Well, almost free! The main idea is that:
if you
send a postcard, you will receive one back from a random Postcrosser from
somewhere in the world.
How does it work?
First, the short version:
1.request an address from the website
2.mail the postcard to the address
3.wait to receive a postcard
4.register the received postcard in the system
For me to find a postcard in my mail box that someone send especially to me
is... well really exciting and I would love to encourage people to join this
project.
And here are few of my favorite received postcards:
|
From Ukraine |
|
From Croatia |
|
|
From Russia |
|
From Czech Republic |
|
From China |
You can find more of my postcards
here.
And I would love to hear from you what you think about postcrossing.
Happy Postcrossing!!
