Failure

This weekend I was doing a pillow cover. I was in a hurry and I made some mistakes. Actually a big failure:

The corners didn't come together nicely. Not one of them. The one above is the worst. I can't stand making such mistakes. And so some of the weekend went in tears. But luckily I had a search around in the Internet about motivation after a failure. I found one: 12 Truths to Tell Yourself After a Mistake or Failure. This was my savior. As soon as I started reading I felt so much better. And now I have a printed copy so that when I make a mistake I can show myself that it's just life lessons for me. I plan to read more posts from this site. They are just so interesting.

About my blog posts

Now I decided.  I plan to make at least two posts a week. I can’t promise less post, but only more. First one will be about what I’m working on right now. The other one will be about my old, past works. So in all we have two kinds of posts coming. And in this way I’ll tell not only about my present works but about my previous lessons of art and life.

And not to wait for something I want to introduce to you my first quilt:

It was done when I was 14 years old. I just had an idea that I need something handmade for my room. And so when I was looking for ideas I visited an exhibition. One quilt really inspired me. It was made out of denim. Somehow for little me that was the best idea ever and not long time after that I started making my first quilt. A denim quilt.

Since I was young I didn’t wanted any unnecessary job, so my “sandwich” is incomplete. There is no soft part in it. And binding is incomplete.

I always wandered if I am going to fix it. But this is my first quilt and I decided to leave it as it is.

It’s nowhere near perfect or fine. It’s a complete mess, but still it’s my very first quilt and I love its’ every mistake, imperfection or messy parts. These parts makes’ it special for me. It makes me remember when I was just starting my life.

Monday

I have to admit that I had zero luck with my flickr problems. But that can’t stop me from writing my blog, right? So for now I have to suck it up and endure a little but without flickr. And now about what I am working right now on:

From these fabrics I am making a HST pillow. My first pillow cover can’t wait to see how it turns out. I am using a block from Jeni Bakers' blog. That block is in one of her tutorials Half-Square Triangle Block of the Month. I am using February and August blocks. I will give it away so I have remember to take some pictures. A note for myself :)

Not long time ago at the store I noticed a new cookies. What drew me to them was a part of their name "Mini". I have to admit I have a weakness toward small, mini things. They are so cute and so I collect them. And so these cookies were perfect for me, but not only they were cute, they were delicious also. And I had to have some tea with them.

This is one of my favorite tea collection. I love "LOYD" tea. It's really delicious. And so I had some tea with my cookies on my quilted potholder:

And the cookies they're really small.... Anyways hope you'll join for a cup of tea :)

And the rearranging of photos takes some time. Because of these problems and my search in solution I can't properly upload. I'm sorry for that. I have many post ready but the problem is photos.... I really don't have any idea how to fix my problems and I'm wondering if you could light my way. If you know how to do it, please do. I'll be waiting for any king of guidance or information regarding this question. My e-mail is: dovileg74@gmail.com

Bead balls going around: shoes

In the end of summer I found amazing shoes:

I really liked them, but one day a group of bead balls decided to try them:

They fit in one shoe... WOW.... But it was cramped... And so they shared:

And played in my shoes a lot....

And so they occupied my shoes and I didn't have time to try them out myself. But that's okay. I'll have them for another summer my fresh new shoes. :)
